The Choice to Fly

Inspired by the parable of the wise man and the butterfly, The Choice to Fly reflects on the idea that “everything is in your hands.”

The work brings together two symbolic forms. The butterfly, often associated with the fragility of life, transformation, and choice, becomes a meditation on the possibilities that emerge through our decisions. The ballerina serves as a metaphor for graceful flight, embodying the freedom, balance, and inner strength that allow us to rise beyond limitation.

Poised between movement and stillness, the figure occupies a space where potential has yet to become action. In doing so, the sculpture invites reflection on the relationship between freedom and responsibility, reminding us that the course of our lives is shaped not only by circumstance, but by the choices we make.
